I ran around the parade field today (1.55 miles) I beat my time on Friday for the same course by 1 second. Whaoooo! Can you feel the improvement? lol. It was a good run. I could feel myself being a bit stiff at the beginning then loosening up after I settled in. I didn't stretch much first. I've got to get better at pre-stretching.

Nice run. I try not to stretch too much before a run, especially on "cold" muscles. I may walk a bit first to loosen up the muscles and then really focus on stretching after a run!
Nothing like kicking your own ass for a bit of motivation. I've been trying to kick the high school version of myself's ass for 10 years now. But I just can't keep up with that skinny no good....
I find that it takes me a good 1-2 miles or so to really warm up; I'm not surprised you felt yourself loosening up after you settled into the run. Good job.
It often takes a bit of distance to begin loosening up. I never stretch pre-run. Or, post run for that matter ;)
Remember it's not so important with the time, but that you are moving your body and improving your health.
