I just wanted to post that my 3 miler tonight was awesome, even if it was cool and wet out. 31:26 for 3 miles with a 3/1 run/walk pace. Could this be the start of a speed increase? I hope so!
Great time, especially since it's 3/1. I've been pounding it out on the run and I have been getting tired. I need to go back to this cuz my times are getting worse.
I found the Royal Marines Commandos Fitness & Survival Skills book.
I'll try to scan in the programs we used while I was flying. Then maybe a challenge could motivate you to keep at the cross-training!
Andrew, you should look into the run/walks. They've helped me a lot with my foot issues. Breaking up the motion between the runs helps with fatigue too. From my experience as long as you limit the walk to no more than a minute, your HR doesn't drop much and allows you to recover slightly. Since doing them, my times have actually INCREASED! And yeah, a challenge is what I need to motivate me with cross training.

congrats on a great run! Sometimes they happen when you least expect them too, right?!
